I was a creative kid, who loved to draw. I carried a sketch pad with me everywhere, and my toys were my earliest models. At High School my favourite subjects were english, art, and art history, so after graduation I decided my destiny was to travel down the Graphic Design path. I studied at Wellington School of Design and graduated 4 years later. A move to the beautiful Hawke's Bay secured my first job as a graphic designer, and I continued to work in the advertising & design industry for over 15 years.
At some point during that journey I met my husband and we had three gorgeous daughters. It's funny how having kids makes you re-evaluate your life. I went back to work part-time when the girls were at Kindy, but I couldn't find my groove. My 'aha' moment came when I was asked to come up with some ideas for re-designing our work space. A light bulb went on in my head - this is what I want to do.
I started this blog initially as a creative outlet for my new found passion in the interiors world, but it quickly became so much more to me. I have made fantastic friends with like-minded people from around the globe, including fellow New Zealand bloggers. I am constantly humbled by the lovely feedback I get from my readers both here, and on my Facebook page. The fact that I can inspire others as well as myself is brilliant!
At the beginning of 2013, I formed an interior decorating & styling business with my fabulous friend, Dael Brady. Together we are Bibby + Brady. I now have my dream job - I spend my days designing gorgeous rooms for others, and in my evenings I blog. I also do a bit of writing for Your Home and Garden. There are long hours and late nights, but when you love what you're doing, it's all OK - Everything is Kapai!
