Coast Giveaway

I have an absolutely fabulous giveaway on the blog today from Coast New Zealand. I am so excited to share it with you, and to tell you that this competition is open to all of my lovely New Zealand and Australian readers. And, by the way, Coast offer free shipping within NZ and Australia for all online orders. Let me start by telling you a bit about Coast...

Coast New Zealand was created in 2004 by Nicola and Alex Webster with the goal of establishing a luxury brand that would reflect New Zealand's unique quality of life. We Kiwis (as do you Aussies) love the outdoors, and because we are a tiny country surrounded by water, we all live very close to the sea. As beautiful and relaxing as our coast lines are, they can also be rugged and unforgiving. Coast makes sure that all their products are designed with a simple, timeless beauty. And because they only use top quality materials and construction methods, it means their products can withstand whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

Because we love to be outdoors, many of us are creating 'outdoors rooms' in our homes.
Our outdoor areas are becoming very much an extension of inside, often with seamless integration. Perfect for the outdoor room are the Coast products found in the Isla Collection. Think 'beanbag meets modular furniture'! Super stylish and comfy, and
the Sunbrella fabric is extremely hardwearing and durable.

Another way for us to stay outdoors a little bit longer is to wrap up warm. The Bendigo Woollen Blankets are lusciously thick and cosy, and a timeless addition to any home, batch or lodge. Wrap one around your shoulders, or throw over the end of your bed or sofa.

And the latest addition to Coast's collection is the gorgeous Mackenzie Throw made from 100% pure New Zealand wool. Meticulously hand woven they are lightweight and breathable while still being warm and super soft. Have a few of these on hand for your guests at your next barbecue, they'll love you for it.

To win your very own Mackenzie Throw worth $369, simply click here, subscribe to the Coast mailing list and tell them your favourite Mackenzie Throw colour. It's as easy as that, and what an awesome prize! I will announce the winner here on the blog and on my Facebook page next Monday 25th February. Good luck! x

Competition only open to New Zealand and Australian readers.

This competition is now closed. Congrats to our winner, Karly Ryder.

Big Love for Big Save

Don't you just love rugs?! They bring warmth, colour and texture, and they help to ground
a room. Add a rug under your coffee table and between your sofas and it instantly pulls everything together.

I was at a friend's home recently and commented on their amazing new chevron rugs.
I was so excited to hear that they're from Big Save Furniture. I am a true believer that style doesn't have to cost a fortune. My theory is to have one or two beautiful designer pieces, and balance those out with some more affordable pieces.

I popped in to my local Big Save store and had a chat to the team. They were so helpful and friendly, and had some really great furniture. I got all the info on the rugs so I could share it with you. The rugs measure 140cm x 200cm and are made from 100% cotton. The zig zag rug is available in black, grey, orange, and yellow, and they also have a very cute multi coloured peacock pattern. The pattern is printed onto the mat, so they are single sided. Retail price is $199, but for a limited time they are selling them at half price -$99, what a steal!

I also discovered that they have matching cushions. They are a great size at 50cm square, and come in the same pattern and colour range as the rugs. These retail for $40, but again are on sale at only $20 each! Cushions are the easiest way to change the look of your room, and I am always changing and swapping mine (to the great amusement of my husband!). At such a fantastic price these cushions are super affordable. Why not pop in to your local Big Save store and have a look for yourself.

Courtney Wotherspoon

I have to thank Kim from Desire to Inspire for introducing me to Toronto-based designer Courtney Wotherspoon. This blog has always been about showcasing those things that inspire me and a place to store and record them. So when I saw Courtney's work I knew I had to include it.

Courtney is a graphic designer and illustrator, and has also recently crossed over into interiors, textiles and lifestyle design - she's one clever bunny! I love her interior style,
it's fun, quirky and cool. Lots of unexpected moments...

This same 'quirky cool' is evident in her design & illustration, like this wedding invitation...

And she creates some pretty fabulous handmade goodies too that she sells in her online shop. My favourites are the hand painted art blocks and her hand painted deer antlers...
