Lofty Heights

This beautiful loft in Buckhead, Atlanta belongs to Elizabeth Hanson. It was one of those 'right time, right place' situations - Elizabeth stumbled across the construction site, and asked to look at the top floor unit. She loved it so much she decided to buy it completely empty - no flooring, no plumbing, no ductwork, nothing! It was a turning point in her life. With a degree in psychology, but working as a florist, she poured her creativity into designing and creating her new home - the most hectic four months of her life! With a lifetime love of interior design, it inspired her to go back to school, and while studying at the Art Institute of Atlanta was hired as an intern at Westbrook Interiors, where she now works fulltime.

After a busy day filled with design details, Elizabeth loves coming home to her loft. She has definitely achieved her goal to create a quiet, clean space, one that's unpretentious and relaxing. The challenge of open-plan living is to achieve an aesthetically integrated environment. Her simple colour palette of white, black and the natural warm tones of the wood and brick work to unify the space.

Divine Inspiration

The fabulous Lucy Feagin from The Design Files posted a Melbourne home on her blog yesterday that made me swoon! It belongs to graphic designer, Lauren Seeman, and her husband David, owners of Patchy Rugs. The bedroom, to me, is absolute perfection - a simple white base with some gorgeous styling. A stunning mix of patterns, and just enough pink to satisfy me without making it too feminine. I'm also inspired by the bedside lights, and now think I'll move my little deer head over next to the bed, and hang my knitted cord light on. Make sure you see many more photos and read Lucy's full story.

The Richards' Dynasty

I came across this amazing Vogue photoshoot of Keith Richards and his family at their holiday retreat on the North Caribbean island of Parrot Cay. I was blown away, not only by the heavenly location, and beautiful people that are Keith's family; but (you guessed it!) the divine clothes, and blend of delicious Bohemian patterns.

I love that Keith and Patti seem so happy, and they've been together since 1979. The family consists of (left to right): Keith's son, Marlon, and his wife, model Lucie de la Falaise; Keith's daughter, Angela, and her 11 month old daughter, Ava; Ella Rose, Marlon and Lucie's 16 year old daughter; Keith and Patti; Theodora, Keith and Patti's daughter; Ida (hidden) and Orson, Marlon and Lucie's other children; Alexandra, Keith and Patti's daughter; and Angela's partner, Graham Whitney and his son, Adam.
