The interior design PROCESS

At Bibby + Brady we offer a complete interior design and decorating service for residential and boutique commercial projects. Full-service means we can manage your interior design project from concept to completion. Whichever way you contact us (phone, email, social media etc), we will always direct you to fill in our online form. Once we receive your form we will contact you to schedule a free 10-20 minute phone consultation to discuss your project in a little more depth. If your project is a good fit, in both style and timing, we’ll then arrange either a site or studio visit, or if you’re outside of Hawke’s Bay it could be a Zoom meeting.

INITIAL CONSULTATION:

After your phone consultation we will visit you at your home for the initial consultation. We will spend up to an hour getting to know you, determining your style, and what you hope to achieve. We like to start with a tour of your home or commercial space and/or go over any architect or building plans. We will take plenty of photos and notes, so the more information you can give us about your project, the better our end result will be.

We will want to see: A current floor plan, and architect or building plans (if applicable). Inspirational images or your Pinterest link can be emailed to us after the consultation.

A proposal with a quote and a plan outlining how we will proceed will be emailed to you in the days following your consultation.

We work with clients nationwide, so if you live outside Hawke's Bay (Napier, Hastings or Havelock North), we can travel to you - please note in this case the consultation fee will include travel, which will be advised. We may be able to do the initial consultation by phone or Skype, and, in this case, we will require you to send us photos and a floor plan.


the process outlined

A consultation is followed by our proposal and, if accepted, a custom design including any or all of the following - selection of materials and finishes, kitchen, bathroom and laundry design, colours, floor and window treatments, furniture and accessories, lighting and art, furniture plan, and 3D visuals are available on request. You can then think of us as your personal shoppers - we will order, track and manage all purchases.

  • you fill in our online form;

  • we schedule a 10-20 minute phone consultation;

  • initial consultation on-site or at an agreed location;

  • proposal for initial design will be emailed to you;

  • spatial planning and hand-selection of any finishes required, hard surfaces, plumbing fixtures, paint colours, and materials;

  • design concept board and furniture layout plan;

  • 3D visuals and elevations available on request;

  • presentation of design concept (if outside of Hawke’s Bay the designs will be emailed to you and followed up with a phone call to discuss);

  • invoice sent for first stage - design concept;

  • collaboration with architect and contractor/s on floor plans, cabinetry, millwork, electrical and lighting plan - if required;

  • on-site visits when required;

  • purchase products, plus order and oversee any custom pieces, including furniture, cushions and window treatments;

  • track and manage all ordered products;

  • installation and styling when possible.
