Favourite Finds

I think you're going to love my most recent "favourite finds"... These Thomo & Coach Timber Boxes are super cool. The boxes are hand crafted and designed by Melbourne based company, Thomo & Coach - Anoushka Thompson and Steve Gourlay - and custom painted by Sydney graffiti artist, Roach.

Lea Korzeczek and Matthias Hiller are the founders and creative directors of Danish company STUDIO OINK. One of their specialities is creating customised interior design concepts, and their 'marvelous all-in-one bunk bed' is pretty spectacular. A bunk bed, playground, dressing room and storage space, it features two secret staircases and a lockable trapdoor. The built-in wardrobe is accessible both ways and there is even a pull-out guest bed for sleepovers. Wouldn't this be every kids' dream?! Not to mention an excellent use of space.

Last but not least, have you been to visit my GREAT.LY boutique yet? It's filled with products that I've hand picked from the amazing GREAT.LY makers. I will be regularly adding new pieces, so make sure you keep stopping by. Some of my latest additions...

Est Magazine | Issue 13

I finally found some time to sit down and read the latest issue of Est Magazine and, as usual, it's brilliant. Filled with lots of slick design and inspiration - one of my favourite articles was about a Dutch woman, Saskia Hurd, who worked with young designers to create a really cool hostel for travellers.

The hostel's simplicity is captivating, and while there was a tight budget, everything looks beautiful, functional and cleverly thought through. I love the bed built into the living room wall, which can be opened up or closed away behind bright yellow doors. And the bunks built into a tiny nook is a great use of space, especially with the large pull out drawers underneath.

And talking about simplicity, there is a stunning Melbourne family home featured that I know you'll love. The closing sentence summed it up beautifully... "Elegant without being extravagant and simple without being minimalist, this home reflects the lives of its inhabitants in a way that will truly stand the test of time".

A teenager's retreat was built under the roof line and between the two boys' bedrooms. Such a great space, the green carpet with the crisp white walls gives a sense of the outdoors. Large floor cushions with bright graphics add another cool touch.

Although it's quite a minimal look, each piece of furniture in the house has maximum impact because of it's beauty and form. The Tufty Time sofa is delicious - gorgeous and squishy (very technical terms!) - I'm a big advocate for investing in a quality sofa.

Such a gorgeous home, it makes me want to go and clean up any clutter at my place! Pop over and read the whole magazine for yourself, I've shared some of my favourite parts, but there's so much more.

Armadillo&Co Junior Collection

You know I'm a big fan of Armadillo&Co and their gorgeous rugs. So I was really excited when I heard that they were releasing the Junior Collection, a range of rugs especially for kids' rooms. Timeless designs that will look just as gorgeous in a baby's nursery as they will in a teenager's room.

My slight obsession with circles makes the Pinwheel a strong front runner for me. Made from hardwearing braided hemp, it comes in two sizes - 0.76m and 1.22m - and four colours - Wasabi, Chilli, Bondi, and Canary - such great names!

The stratum weave Carnival Stripe is a classic that will liven up any room. Available in sizes 1.4 x 2m and 1.7 x 2.4m, it again has a range of delightfully named colour options - Pirate, Eggshell, Biscuit, Frog, Elephant, Piglet, Robin, Tiger, and Dolphin. Made from 100% wool means they're great quality and lovely underfoot.

A more natural look, the Awning Stripe features ice cream toned stripes against soft, warm hemp in practical nest weave. It comes in four sizes - 0.9 x 1.8m, 1.4 x 2m, 1.7 x 2,4m, and 2 x 3m. Available colours are Charcoal, Duck Egg, Rosewater, Tangelo, Citrus, and Celadon, all contrast perfectly with the natural stripe.

The ever popular Flower Weave collection now comes in darling petite sizes. Beautifully crafted from braided, hand stitched Bangladeshi hemp, they are delightfully soft. Marigold is the matriarch of the flower family and comes in a 1.55m rug as well as a 2.15m size.

Dandelion comes in the same sizes as Marigold. It's repetitive circle design makes me quite giddy with joy!

Daisy is the baby sister of the group. At 0.98m it would be perfectly sweet by a bed or a cot.

I'm sure you love the new Junior Collection just as much as I do. If you live in New Zealand and are interested in purchasing a rug from Armadillo&Co, drop me an email and I can help get your order underway.
